According to Walmart.com, “Walmart serves customers and members more than 200 million times per week at more than 8,838 retail units under 55 different banners in 15 countries.” Nearly half of the retail stores are in the United States, while about half are outside the country. Indeed, there is a pretty good chance that there is a Walmart store near you, no matter where you live.
Walmart Store Locator for US Stores
Walmarts are located in every state in the USA. You can find the Walmart closest to where you live by using the Store Finder feature on the company’s website. Simply enter your city and state and choose within what mile range (e.g., 10, 15, 20, and so on) you want to search for stores.
The store locator search gives you the option to search for all Walmart stores or specific types of stores (regular Walmarts, Walmart Supercenters, Neighborhood Markets, or Marketside Stores).
The retailer locator also allows users to search for stores with particular services and features, including:
- Cell phones and mobile phone plans
- Garden center
- Gas station
- Grocery
- McDonald’s restaurant
- Medical clinic
- Open 24 hours
- Pharmacy or 24-hour pharmacy
- Photo center or 1-hour photo center
- Portrait studio
- Site to Store service (free shipping of an online order to a Walmart store for customer pickup)
- Subway restaurant
- Tire and lube
- Vision center
International Walmart Locations
Walmart is an international company, with stores located throughout the world. The company states, “Today, Walmart International is a fast-growing part of Walmart's overall operations, with 4,434 stores and more than 700,000 associates in 15 countries outside the continental U.S.”
The discount department store giant has a presence in numerous countries, such as:

- United Kingdom
International stores often operate under different names. In some cases, the stores retain the name of the retailers that Walmart bought out. In other cases, Walmart has entered into joint business ventures with local stores.
Walmart explains, “More than 75 percent of our international stores operate under a different banner than Walmart. But, whether we’re Pali in Costa Rica, Todo Dia in Brazil, or Despensa Familiar in Central America, all of our stores share a common goal: Save people money, so they can live better.”
Walmarts Around the World
Walmart retailers are found throughout America, in major cities and small towns, and in various countries outside the US. It is important to note that the company operates under a variety of names in both the US and outside the country. In the US, for instance, there are the Neighborhood Market, Marketside Store, Sam’s Club, and Supermercado de Walmart retailers.
Americans can use the Walmart.com Store Finder to locate a store near them. People living outside the US can check the international section of the website to find stores in other countries. There is an interactive “Where in the World is Walmart?” map that pinpoints store locations throughout the world.
